First Baptist Church Grass Valley’s Covid-19 Response:

Church Inside Out.

(Updated 5/20/20)

In an effort to protect our congregation and community, First Baptist Church Grass Valley is following CDC and the State of Oregon guidelines regarding social distancing and meetings.

We have entered into the Phase 1 reopening procedures as set out by the State of Oregon.  We are having in person services on Sundays starting at 10:45 a.m.  As such we are limited to 25 people in the Sanctuary for services.  Social Distancing guidelines are being followed.  Families, members of the same household can sit together.  There is plenty of room to employ staggered seating and maintain the social distancing guidelines.  We just ask that you take into account the varying levels of comfort some might have and operate from an attitude of love and grace.

Our regular Worship Service streams will continue live on Facebook every Sunday at 10:45 a.m.  for those who are not yet comfortable with coming to church, have pre-existing conditions that should be considered or have any symptoms of sickness…Cough, Sore throat, fever, upset stomach, etc.  Please consider the health and well being of others.

Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting is now being held at the Church in Grass Valley at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening.  Pastor Joe is not planning on continuing the Zoom broadcast unless there are people that wish to attend that way.  Please call (541) 660-8223 and let Pastor Joe know if you would like to have the Zoom broadcast of the Prayer Meeting to continue.

Sunday School and all other regularly scheduled events as well as special events have been cancelled.  Keep checking back here and on our Facebook group to see if any other online or special events are being planned.

If you know of anyone who does not have internet there are CD’s of the messages available at the Church in Grass Valley and the Parsonage in Kent.  There are also other items such as coloring pages for kids, Sunday School materials, Bulletins, etc.

For those in the community that do not have high speed internet access for their kids distance/online classes, we are making our internet access available.

Contact Pastor Joe Burgess for the guest network password.

First Baptist Church is striving to stay active and connected to our community during this difficult time.  There is still much that we,  as a Church and individuals, can do…Even when we can’t meet face to face.  Our prayers continue for our County, State, Nation and World to quickly work through this tragedy.  Also for those that are sick and have lost loved ones to Covid-19, and for those struggling financially due to lost jobs.  Stay healthy, active and involved.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. “    Prov. 3:5-6
